Isn’t it sad that my cat can get better health care than I can? I’ve been without insurance for years now for a variety of reasons. Whenever I have symptoms of any sickness, I just wait it out, or dope myself up on whatever over-the-counter goods will suppress my ills.
Today I took my beloved beast to the vet for dental work. No questions about HMO, PPO, or even forms to fill out. Simple as that.
Wish it were the same for humans. When I had a serious mishap a couple of years ago, I wasn’t immediately ushered into the emergency room to get help; I was hit with a barrage of forms and questions about my coverage. I needed help, pronto, and wasn’t in any shape to deal with the question of who, what or how I was gonna cover my eventual expenses.
In the end, I had to pay everything out of pocket. The safety net for such individuals as myself,
Today’s obsession: Helping my cat convalesce when he returns home and awakens from his anesthetic stupor.
