As Mark chided me for bringing so much stuff into the park (you can't dry off after a shower w/a chlorine soaked towel, right?!), he somehow wedged everything into our tiny rented locker.
Mark, Winnie, and I proceeded to start off for the day's fun until we realized he should have his thongs to protect those all-important feet from the sizzling concrete. Here's where the trouble started.
594 seemed quite upset with all the goodies we crammed into it. Mark inserted the key, turned the key, and alas, no give. Once again, Mark inserted the key, turned the key, but 594 was playing it cool.
After about 5 minutes, Winnie & I sought help. We met many Raging Waters staffers in the next HOUR, as each person tried to get 594 to open sesame. Fifteen minutes into the drama, Mark encouraged Winnie and I to take off and go have fun. So we did.
594 continued to taunt and tease the random locker-opening experts who came armed w/a variety of hammers, screwdrivers, and sheer determination.
After Winnie & I scored some rafts in the lazy river attraction to enjoy the smooth flow of the undulating wetness, I told her to keep floating along while I went to see if 594 finally gave up the goods.
Sure enough, Mark was ramming our stuff (w/a few towels taken out for good measure!) into a new locker, 611. I gazed in wonder at 594, which remained open after staffers had to just break the darn thing to gain entry.
Turns out, there are some not-so-smart people still on this planet. Although all of the lockers at Raging Waters are opened and locked with an assigned key, some idiot had stuffed a dime into the no-longer-in-use coin slot from days passed.
This was the key problem (no pun intended): This tiny little dime created a significant enough amount of blockage that 594 couldn't have opened even if it wanted to. Phew, it wasn't all of our stuff jammed in there.
611 was quite happy and accommodating. For good measure, Mark and I locked and reopened our new locker joyfully and with ease.
Thanks 611 for saving the day.
