A Little R&R

Been excited about today all week. Later this afternoon, I'm meeting up with 4 of my TESOL cohorts for a fun afternoon. One of them loves, loves, loves doggies, so we'll start by seeing Marley & Me. I'm just a fan of any movie with animals, so it's all good.

Then we're heading for coffee and chatting...followed by a trip to my favorite "ghetto" Mexican restaurant. No Taco Bell or El Torito here. Hit me with the brains and tongue tacos!

All but one of these lovely ladies have already finished their degrees, and I miss seeing them on campus. Two are from Korea...the other is Japanese-American from Hawaii, and the lone one still in the master's program is from Taiwan. We are a true United Nations of English teaching.

Every time we meet up, it's full of laughter, stories, and annoying glances from those around us as we chortle and hoot about classroom conundrums, clueless students, and cultural epiphanies. It's sure to be a great day.

Been wanting to use that word since 6th grade when I learned it just to win a spelling bee. Unfortunately, I got knocked out on an easy word in the early rounds. Shucks!
