Unprofessional?

I'd like to hear your thoughts on this. Around my house, I'm known as quite the little piggy, a label I wear proudly. I especially covet the food that other people are eating. I think that comes from living in a country where a lot of dishes are communally shared, unlike here.

Last week, during the break between my two classes, one of my students was standing outside having a snack of one of my favorite treats, sweet potato. I go bonkers for these. When I lived in Japan, I would run like a little kid after an ice cream truck when I heard the "焼き芋" guy in my 'hood.

Now, this is not just any student. I've taught this student before, and last semester I continued to forge a friendship as this student visited me for conversation tutoring at my other English job. I consider this student more of a friend than someone I just teach.

So, as my eyes widened at this student's snack, I was gracefully offered a piece. Which I accepted. And wolfed down.

Mark has chastised me for being unprofessional about this...what do you all think?

As for snatching a bite of 焼き芋, I might acquiesce with Mark, but C'MON! it's 焼き芋!
