面白かった

With not much on my plate this week, I'm blessed with time to do one of the things I like most: reading for pleasure. Stumbled upon this book at the CSUF library and have found it thoroughly engaging.

It's a collection of essays from various Asian authors who presented at an international conference with the topic of Japanese TV drama consumption in East/Southeast Asia in 2001.

All sorts of issues are covered: gender politics, globalization, "Japanization," media control, and a whole handful of social concerns. After reading this, I feels much more smarterer.

Today's obsession: Trying not to consume the fumes from the "hotmopping" being done as our bathrooms undergo renovation. It's been two weeks and counting for this undertaking. Have had no shower or sinks to use for the last four days. Fun!

Wow! They still make those things called books and put them in places called a library? Not all is lost. How was your visit with the Takeuchi's student?
