Stupid (insert expletive here) Car

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. One of the major reasons I hate living in So Cal is the necessity of a car.

Well, my poor car has finally bitten the dust. Yesterday as I pulled into the parking lot at school, smoke started billowing from under the hood. Hmm. Not good. I continued with my day and decided to deal with it after I finished all my commitments.

I've got quite a conundrum on my hands. Since I returned to America about 3 1/2 years ago, I've already sunk about $6,000 in repairs on my 1994 Toyota Camry. I love the little guy, and I'm quite attached, but I just don't know if I can spare another grand or so, and then be waiting for the next breakdown after a quick fix.

Going to the mechanic this morning to detail my dilemma. Am already resigned to the fact that I might have to forgo my graduation trip to London this summer in order to put a down payment on a new car.

I've got a rental car reserved for the rest of this week, a Toyota RAV4, since that's one model I'm considering buying in the future.

The other car I've got my eye on is a Mini Cooper. Yes, I have succumbed to Mini-Mania. They're just so damn cute. Oh, reliable and get good gas mileage, too!

My March Madness: Really, do I need to say anything after what you've just read?
