When I dashed off the proposal application last November, I really didn't think I was offering something of interest to the vast population of teachers, researchers and publishers who will attend this statewide gathering of TESOL professionals.
Guess I was wrong. I'm happy to have been chosen, and it's a great chance for professional development. Still, though, I already have the jitters and creeping self-doubt about this opportunity.
I haven't reviewed what I submitted, but I remember it's continuing my focus of using newspapers in the classroom as an authentic resource for teaching not only reading & vocabulary, but the other "skills" such as listening and speaking.
How can you do that, you might ask?
Well, attend my workshop and find out!
