It's the thought that counts.

As an ESL teacher, I’m lucky to reap the benefits of gifts from appreciative students. When I left my teaching job in Japan, I had to ship home three extra boxes filled with said gifts. Each one has special meaning to me, and I’m pleased that students take the time to consider and reward my efforts.

Last Thursday, I received the most interesting gift ever. The student is quite lovely, and I didn’t do anything in particular to receive the tiny wrapped package on that day. I asked her if I could open it immediately, and she said it was okay to wait.

Thank goodness I did, because I immediately burst into giggles when I tore off the paper. This is what I received:

Hmmm…is she trying to tell me something? Still, this stuff isn’t cheap, I’ll use it, and I hope it smoothes away those fine lines.

Today’s obsession: Wondering how I’m gonna memorize all my new Korean vocabulary words before my lesson Wednesday. Been slacking off!
